Belgium Orient Express

Here we have the lavish train carriage of the orient express train, explored in October 2014. It was just a quick stop off here, but one I am glad we did. They just don’t make trains like this anymore and it was an amazing thing to witness, although decaying and old it gave it an authentic and vintage feel of carriage. Built in the 1930’s the train was a monster, if I closed my eyes I could imagine people dressed in 1930’s dress, families bustling around with a picnic basket, a love affair, a man with his leg crossed reading a paper, a woman applying bright red lipstick, the thought of such an extravagant train in such an era is a wonder and Im glad it set my imagination on fire if only for half an hour.
