Russia Textile Factory

Founded in the mid-18th century, this textiles factory in Russia represents a 200-year-old site of local industry. During World War I, bandages, cotton and gauze were produced here as a part of the war effort. Under the Soviet regime the textiles factory was very successful and even went on to survive the collapse of the Soviet Union; albeit with reduced production levels. The factory suffered a crisis in 2008 however, that inevitably led to its closure, soon followed by extensive looting and inevitable decay.
